For this main floor renovation, the heart of the project centred on reimagining the kitchen and dining area to create a more cohesive and functional space. Key structural changes included removing the main dividing wall, closing in a redundant window, and eliminating a secondary, unnecessary kitchen entrance. These adjustments allowed for a seamless open-concept layout where the kitchen now flows effortlessly into the dining room, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

Every detail was carefully considered to meet the family’s storage needs while adding practical features that elevate the space. To honour the character of the home, we installed new hardwood flooring, ornate baseboards, and faithfully recreated the beautiful original archways, ensuring the renovation stayed true to its roots. A charming built-in nook was thoughtfully added for the family’s pup, providing a dedicated spot for eating and drinking that blends seamlessly into the design.

The result is a warm, inviting, and highly functional main floor that respects the home’s heritage while offering the modern conveniences of open-concept living. This renovation truly embodies the perfect blend of tradition and innovation.
