Our clients wanted to modernize their home, making it more energy-efficient, functional, and better suited for their lifestyle. During the design phase, we decided to relocate the kitchen to the center of the home. The original kitchen, positioned near the back entrance, was small and impractical for hosting family gatherings.

To achieve these goals, we stripped the attic and main floor walls down to the studs, allowing us to install spray foam insulation and an HRV system for improved energy efficiency and air quality. The reconfiguration also included redesigning the bedrooms and adding a full bathroom to create a primary suite. Throughout the process, we thoughtfully preserved the home’s character in every decision.

The result was a complete transformation of the main floor, maximizing both flow and functionality. Later, we returned to renovate the basement, turning it from a dark and uninviting space into a cozy, welcoming area for the family to gather. This comprehensive renovation truly brought the home to life while honouring its essence.
