Our client’s goal was to transform their outdated, dysfunctional, and deteriorating home into a functional, inviting, and cozy space that maximized their view of the Red River. The original main floor was closed off and compartmentalized, with no view the river from the kitchen. Additional priorities included adding a second-floor laundry area, a gas fireplace, and a gas range.

To achieve these goals, we embraced an open-concept design for the main floor. By removing several load-bearing walls and installing new flush beams to support the structural load, we merged four separate rooms into one seamless, open space. This transformation allowed the homeowners to enjoy a clear view of the river from the kitchen sink.

Upstairs, we reimagined the layout of the bathrooms to create a larger ensuite with a custom-tiled shower. We also repurposed a hall closet into a convenient, stackable laundry area.

Careful planning, a detailed design, and close collaboration with our engineer from the outset were key to the success of this comprehensive home renovation.
